Nice example of a 1978 Bay LHD Westfalia Helsinki Conversion, with original 2litre engine, now reluctantly needing a new home for fresh adventures. MOT to October 2014, tax to June 2014. A perfect vehicle for family adventures: "Billie" has been part of the family for ten years, with runs to Cornwall, Scotland, and to Spain, France and across Alps to Italy. Basically very sound, requires a little TLC to keep her going for at least another ten years: with our children off at college, and us getting older, we are not using her as much as she deserves, hence a very reluctant sale. Runs fine: the larger engine means she can run along at 65 happily when required. Some rust bubbling up on bodywork needing some minor touching up and repairs here and there. Interior basically original - featuring usual Westy refinements: full-width rock and roll bed (original cushions) and large pop-up with space for two (or three small) children. Under seat storage. Twin-ring gas cooker, full-length storage cupboard and ceiling storage cupboard: sink and fridge (requires overhaul). Exterior plug-in for electricity. Original removable table included (for rainy-day card games, beers etc). Spare tyre in neat continental anti-theft container at front, mounted solidly on chassis at front, frees up even more room in back, without causing mounting problems to front panels. Imported by well-known VW specialists, RCC from Germany in 2001, and including many original German service and ownership papers, we have full MOT and service history for past few years: we've looked after her since 2004 and for last four years she has been our daily run around. Given a major renovation in 2005/6, including full exterior re-spray, and underbody sealing. Recently fitted replacement front beam and new anti-roll bar.
