Vintage Gitane Racing Bicycle in Bath, Somerset for sale

I've been steadily doing this bike up before I was given a new one, so this would make an excellent project for any cycling enthusiast. Mechanically the bike is sound, excellent gears and I've fitted a new back wheel. The back brake could do with a new cable as the pressure is a little loose, but this is the only problem with riding it. Cosmetically, the bike is halfway to being ready. There is currently a grey undercoat on the frame, and the front wheel is a little rusty, though a spot of rust remover would sort this out quickly. Ideally, the bike needs a spray paint and new handle bar tape to be fully ready. As to riding it, the thing flies! I fitted a new back gear set to replace the original one, and this has greatly increased the top speed, and made it easier to climb hills. This bike needs a loving home, but she's worth the effort!
